Calling all fundraisers!

Braintree Basketball Club operates as a not-for-profit organisation in order to keep subs as low as possible and keep the doors open to as many families as we can. As you know, the coaches give their time for free and the Club has volunteers giving hours of admin time to book fixtures, organise training sessions, ensure safeguarding and communicate with all the wonderful players and families that belong to this small community.

We are so proud of our unique status and ethos and we hope that it will continue to grow over the coming years, both in size and stature.

The economic situation is tough however, and we know it is hard for so many families at the moment. It is also hard balancing the Club’s books with increased hall hire costs on the horizon. In response to this, we would really like to ask anyone interested in supporting us to organise a fundraiser. Could you take part in a sponsored event maybe, or run a bake sale, a boot sale or even just give up chocolate for a month? There are so many sporting challenges you could do, or you could hold a raffle for us, a quiz night, a pamper evening or movie night.

Every penny you raise will be spent on securing the future of Braintree Basketball Club over the coming months and years and we are truly grateful for your support.

Well Done to Three of our Club Members

Well done to three of our club members! Harry, Sophie & Elizabeth who competed for Essex in the inter county tournament. With the U17 boys winning their tournament too! And the U15 and U17 girls trying their best and working hard but coming 4th and 5th. Very proud of these individuals and everyone else who went to trials!

Well Done to our U11s

Well done to our U11s last week! Special well done to Oscar and Nathan who’s competed in the County tournament and won all their heats then come second overall!

Also a well done to all of the U11s that competed in the last CVL of the season on Sunday. A special well done to the three U9 girls who stepped up to help the boys and let them be able to compete.

End of Season Awards Evening

The annual awards evening was held on the 18th June at Braintree Arts Theatre. It was a wonderful evening, celebrating all the players for their hard work, commitment and successes during the 2021-22 season. The Clubman of the Year award was given to Liam Musson who has devoted countless hours to the club, bringing his endless enthusiasm and fantastic coaching skills to both new and old players alike. Liam’s support of the players is well known and the award was well deserved for all he has done for Braintree Basketball Club this last year. Well done Liam!!
